Brain is not fully developed until age 24

Daily Mail report that researchers have found that the brain is not fully developed until the age of 24. That gives a lot of credence to the fact that people should get some work experience before they apply themselves to university education. Once people have had some real work place experience they are better placed to decide on an appropriate university education.

It also explains the 'boy racers' and begs the question whether children should be allowed to drive at the young age of 17?

Great Ormand Hospital have been involved in studies that began 58 years ago. It begs the question why did this not come to light in Professor Tanner's work?

U.S. Judges Admit to Jailing Children for Money

Philadelphia, Pa. – Judges Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan of the Court of Common Pleas in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, plead guilty in open court that they sentenced children to juvenile detention because they were paid off to do it by the PA Childcare and a sister company, Western PA Childcare corporation that ran the private facilities.

Ciavarella wrote in a letter to the court,

“Your statement that I have disgraced my judgeship is true. My actions have destroyed everything I worked to accomplish and I have only myself to blame.”

The two judges face up to seven years in prison under a plea agreement made with the state.

The companies in question paid the two judges more than $2.6 million dollars to send children to detention.  The companies receive a stipend from the government for each inmate they house.  So as more children were sentenced to the detention center, PA Childcare and Western PA Childcare received more money from the government, prosecutors said.

According to the Juvenile Law Center, a Philadelphia nonprofit group, teenagers were sentenced to detention for simple misdemeanors.

The Constitution guarantees the right to legal representation in U.S. courts. But many of the juveniles appeared before Ciavarella without an attorney because they were told by the probation service that their minor offenses didn’t require one.

Marsha Levick, chief counsel for the Juvenile Law Center, estimated that of approximately 5,000 juveniles who came before Ciavarella from 2003 and 2006, between 1,000 and 2,000 received sentences that far outweighed their crimes.  She said the center will be suing the judges and the companies to compensate the victims.

Levick said.

“That judges would allow their greed to trump the rights of defendants is just obscene,”

This nightmare scenario has long been the cry of those trying to end the practice of privatizing prisons in the United States.

Blessed Marchella Brooklyn

Shalom,

The LORD said 'Brooklyn',  so I checked the news for that location and it is dreadful story about a 4 year old child that has died weighing just 26lbs. 26 is the gematria value of the name of God.

This blessed child, Marchella died due to being 'starved, beaten and drugged to death'. This happened on Obama’s watch in 2010. The child had been in hospital from birth until she was three. Clearly her birth defects were due to her mothers drug taking.

The questions are these, should a mother that has inflicted her drug abuse on her child, be allowed to take this child home from hospital? On leaving hospital this child required the utmost love and care by those that could take care of her. Clearly, in this case, this single parent mother and the grandmother could not do so.

In this case, I would not have allowed this vulnerable child; to be put into the hands of those that do not have the inclination or maternal instincts; to look after themselves, let alone a child. In cases like this, once in medical care for that length of time, a child should stay in medical care, foster parents with medical training would have been the best option for this child when she left hospital.

Due to the history of the mother in this case, and the state of the family. The only option is adoption. Unless the mother is in serious long-term rehabilitation, and I am not just talking about being clean from drugs and drink either. The mother of Marchella required serious healing and self-development.

Everyone failed this defenceless child and her mother, the hospital, social services, neighbors and her own family.

Americans should be told about the humanitarian issues that have been going on under Obama’s nose. Nothing has changed in the African community since his watch began. In fact, those of us that know, know that it has become 100 times worst, with the black panthers putting million dollar bounties on peoples heads; and threatening to kill people. Obama cannot even inspire the African-American community to do good, let alone a country.

May the dear little soul Marchella rest in peace, and for her to know that she truly is loved in heaven.
